The Friends Bookshop is managed entirely by volunteers and is open seven days a week.  If you enjoy books and meeting people you may wish to consider joining the Book-team.  There is a very popular book borrowing scheme exclusively for Book-team members.
For more information of what is involved please speak to a Book-team member in the shop and ask for a registration form.

Situated in the Hylands Stables Visitor Centre, the Friends Second-hand Bookshop first opened its doors in March 2008 and has now become an established and valued Visitor Attraction, raising substantial funds for the Friends.  The Bookshop carries a good stock of second-hand books covering many subjects and includes a large selection of collector’s books.  The Friends rely on donations of all types of books which may be delivered and left at the Bookshop.  A free car park is close by.
Donated books are always welcome but if  you intend to donate a larger number, please consider delivering them over a few visits rather than all at once.
Sadly the Bookshop floor area has limited free space for the processing and storage of incoming books. In most  cases it would be advisable to contact the Bookshop beforehand.
