The Friends
In addition to the funds raised through subscriptions the Friends organise fund raising and social events throughout the year and enjoy a considerable amount of success. This is in no small way down to the efforts and commitment of the members in many varied capacities.

The Friends have an elected Executive Committee consisting of a Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Membership Secretary and a Press & Publicity Officer as well as upto eight ordinary members. In addition the members have also elected a President, Baroness Platt of Writtle CBE DLFR Eng, Vice-President, Stuart Mole, OBE (who chaired the Friends Executive Committee from 1996-1999) and Vice-President Paul Hutchinson (who chaired the Friends Executive Committee from 1999 – 2002).
The role of the Committee is to oversee the general management and direction of the funds and the affairs of the Friends subject to the provision of the Constitution.
