Friends Secondhand Bookshop
The Friends bookshop, in the Stable Centre, opened on 3rd March and will be staffed 7 days a week by volunteers from the Friends.

One World Garden
Prince William opened the One World Garden during his visit to the 21st World Scout Jamboree.
The metal entrance gate was designed by Bex Simon and commissioned and donated by the Friends of Hylands House.

Miniature Portrait of Cornelius Kortright
Cornelius Kortright was the owner of Hylands House from 1797 to 1814. The portrait, by Andrew Plimer, has been donated by the Friends and can be seen on display in the House.

The Official Opening of the Stable Centre
The Official Opening of the refurbished Stable Block, now known as the Stable Centre, completes the restoration of the whole Hylands Estate. The Friends sponsored the restoration of the Stable Clock.

Chelmsford: Turning over a new leaf at park
Planting work has started to restore the grounds of Hylands House, Chelmsford, to its 18th century appearance.

Chelmsford: 400 Hyland trees get axed in work
The Essex Green Party has likened tree felling at Hylands House, Chelmsford,
to damage caused in the 1987 storms.

Redevelopments at a mid-Essex architectural treasure have been captured on video.
A recording which chronicles the history of Hylands House, Chelmsford, and
efforts to restore it, is now available to buy.

Chelmsford: Restoration work complete for Jamboree
The £10.25m restoration of Chelmsford's Hylands House and its 18th
century landscaped gardens will be ready for the World Scout Jamboree
in the park in 2007.

Chelmsford: Hylands House gets Hollywood makeover
A stately home in mid Essex is the new White House. Hylands House in Chelmsford
was chosen as a double for America's White House in the film Chasing Liberty,
which premiered in Los Angeles.
